The Federal Government is determined to tell us that nuclear energy is the only way to go to solve climate change in this country. If they expended the same amount of money and effort into renewable energy technologies I suspect we would get a lot further than the 30% saving from way too many plants.
Now, I wonder how much CO2 is created transporting all of the waste to the nuclear dump which is bound to be a long way away from the point of origin.
However, make up your own mind and cast a critical eye over the report. And see what issues it doesn’t tackle…[Yes, I am very much biased towards the anti-nuclear stance].

Feedback on the Draft Report
- The closing date for feedback will be 12 December 2006. The Taskforce will not be able to consider late feedback.
- Feedback on the draft report can be provided to the Taskforce via email, fax or post.
- The Taskforce will sympathetically consider requests for
confidentiality. If you have specific requirements regarding the
confidentiality of your feedback, please state them prominently. - The Taskforce is committed to the protection of your privacy in accordance with federal privacy laws.
- Please include your contact details with your feedback in case clarification is needed.
- Attachments should be provided in in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF or a text-based format. Please limit email attachments to 5MB in size (total).
- The Taskforce Secretariat will try to acknowledge email feedback received by 12 December.
- Responsibility
for copyright in feedback resides with the author(s), not with the
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Copyright in the final
report will reside with the Commonwealth of Australia. - Although
we will securely maintain information you provide to us, information
transmitted across the Internet via email is not secure.
